Happy Place beach house boasts 7 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms and private pool.

This once exclusive home, one of only five in the Beach District of WaterColor can now be your Happy Place! It is one of the closest homes to the beach access, and sits close to the border of WaterColor and Seaside, so you get the best of both worlds. This is truly a beach getaway compound. The house with private guest house spans an entire block! Directly across the street from the WaterColor resort and next to all the fine shops and restaurants means you are literally a skip away from everything.

Watercolor Inn & Resort

We give you full access to the award winning Watercolor Inn & Resort. It's been named Best Family resort, Top Beach resort and garnered Condé Nast Traveler Platinum Circle Award. When you stay at our home, we include guest passes so you can enjoy exclusive amenities. Swim in the gigantic family pool at The Beach Club. Eat poolside or at The Beachside Grill & Bar. Checkout complimentary beach towels for daily use. Around the Watercolor community you will have access to the four themed community pools, Kid's Camp, Tennis facility, and gym. Be sure to take a run or stroll on the endless walking/running paths around our coastal lake, Western Lake.

Miles of crystal clear emerald and aqua waters will knock your socks off and leave you with a sense of peace and tranquility. Waters are warm, sands are white, and bodies are tan. Early morning calm waters will get you waking up early to see dolphins frolic. With your guest pass, you have access to rent daily beach setups, two chairs and one umbrella. Or we provide you with our own chairs so you can setup your own or bring them down for evening sunset watching and cocktail drinking.

Water Sports

SUP - stand up paddle. It's all the craze. Get a great workout, or paddle leisurely and enjoy the view.

Kayak - Launch right from our beach.

Surfing - small waves make it perfect for beginner surfers or lessons.

Boating - rent a watercraft for the day and take it out to Crab Island (Destin). Pack food and drinks to picnic on your boat, or dock at any of the dozen restaurants along the harbor. He got that right! No need for a car. Put on your sandals and get on your bike and ride. We provide up to 8 beach cruisers for your use.   It's the choice mode of transportation.

Timpoochee trail: great for families, nice leisurely paved bike path. You can do small sections or the whole 18.6miles, winds past dune lakes and state parks and beach access points through several charming beach neighborhoods.

Just steps away, you can enjoy some of the best food along 30a. Just out our door and on the next block is one of our favorites, Wine World, with great food and a Watercolor favorite. Or stroll up to the Seaside town center to eat at the many restaurants and funky food trucks. Famous culinary chefs (like Emeril Lagasse) and award winning establishments (James Beard) frequent this area. So many choices and the best part - you'll never need to get in a car.

A local favorite, WaterColor Wine World. Half wonderfully curated wine and cheese shop, and half great restaurant. Either sit indoors to enjoy the long wine bar and white shiplapped wall dining area, or outside under umbrella shaded tables and listen to trickling water by their fountain.

Airstream trailers are permanent fixtures at this funky food park. No fighting over where to eat, there's something that will satisfy everyone in the group. Get your food and come together to sit at the colorful picnic tables with your gang.

Just a short drive down 30a you will find our all-time favorite ice cream shop. Blue Mountain Creamery serves up new flavors every day of their home made ice creams and frozen yogurts. Other sweets to try: The Candy Bar, Heavenly's.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum number of guests?

Happy Place is one of the largest houses in Watercolor, and can sleep up to 18 guests (maximum of 10-12 adults with kids). The house layout is one of the best things about it. Please see the bedroom configuration here.

Where is the nearest airport?

There are two convenient  airports close to Watercolor. North West Florida Beaches Airport (ECP) is 40 minutes away. Destin/FT Walton Beach Airport (VPS) is 50 minutes away. 

Do we get access to the Watercolor Beach Club and Resort?

Yes, when you book with us, we include exclusive passes that gives you privileges to the Watercolor Resort & community amenities. (Beach Club, 4 community pools, Kids Camp Center, Tennis and workout facilities, and SUP rentals at the Boathouse.

How far away is the beach?

Happy Place is located directly across the street from the beach access and Beach Club! Closest home to this access! AND no need for a golf cart or car to shuttle you to the beach like most of the other homes in WaterColor. Our home is the extra large, corner lot that sits on 30a, and is only a few houses down from the Seaside border.

Can we have a wedding or reception at your house?

No. Our home is a home, not an event venue for weddings or any large party events.

Can the pool be heated?

Yes! Absolutely. When you book with us, just let us know and we will heat the pool for your entire stay for an extra fee.

Do you provide bicycles and if so how many?

Yes! Another included added perk. We have 7 beach cruisers for your use. The seats can be adjusted so they can fit an older child to adults. For kids bikes, you have access to rent from the Watercolor Bike Barn.

Can we arrange for things like pre-arrival grocery delivery, baby gear, extra housekeeping, or a private chef?

Of course, we will work with you on getting that all prearranged to make your arrival and stay the best it can be. We can also suggest local vendors for these items.
